Gap Analysis of the Extinction of the Bhawaiya Song Culture Industry in Bangladesh
Location: Rangpur
We have started our FGD pretest the Extinction of the Bhawaiya Song.
Focus Group Discussion (FGD) - The discussion was placed at Rangpur Shilpakala Academy with the respected Bhawaiya members of the rangpur district. In this session, the problems and reasons for extinctions are highlighted, also their way of living, culture, and earnings, including both past and present conditions, are discussed in the session. The Bhawaiya culture is still popular but due to culture change and not, enough recognition and honourable value in this generation is given. Lastly, each individual presented some solutions like support from the government by arranging funding and support programmes.
Case Study - This was a highlighted individual study with specific questioning done to know the in-depth story and personal related issues regarding Bhawaiya, and how it affects their way of living and socially.
This was done with local people of different classes of short questionnaires to know their interest, demand and popularity of Bhawaiya culture in rangpur nowadays.
This Pretest was done taking two days - The first day with FGD and Case study, the second day with Interviews. Further work will be done on data collection.
